Wearing Versace, as selected by Nyong’o, her longtime stylist Micaela Erlanger and Donatella herself, the look was a fabulously fun ode to the camp theme. Her hair was styled by Vernon Francis, who said that he took inspiration from Marie Antoinette, as well as a self-portrait by artist Lauren Kelley, while her adorned nails were by Casey Herman.

Her make-up artist, Nick Barose spoke about how he fashioned her look, complete with molten metal lids and radiant skin. The final look – a flamboyant column gown made of crystal embroidered stars and metallic macramé with accompanying sculptural ruffled jacket and matching fan – was inspired by the iconic personalities who Versace holds dear. her designer Erlanger explained that.
