What is happening in Kenya is just like drama. Doesn’t seem real but that is how Kenya was designed. Fakes all over.

This is the story as told by Miguna Miguna.

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna now claims top politicians in the country are linked to thriving fake gold trade.

The self-declared general of the National Resistance Movement of Kenya (NRM-Ke) sensationally claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the leader of the illegal business which has seen a high number of foreigners swindled off their money.

In a tweet on Wednesday, he also mentioned Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.

Miguna said Gusii businessmen led by Zaheer Merhali Jhanda who have adversely been mentioned in the illegal trade were just errand boys for top politicians who are yet to respond to the allegations.

“The conductor in the “Fake Gold” fraud is Uhuru Kenyatta. The instrumentalists are Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Fred Matiang’i, Moses Wetang’ula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Mike Sonko. Zaheer Jhanda and Gichane are just errand boys – fall guys,” Miguna tweeted.

The allegations come at a time when the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has noted that the counterfeit gold trade has reached alarming levels, and asked foreigners intending to buy the precious metals to conduct due diligence to avoid being conned.

“Attention has been drawn to an upsurge in criminal cases involving the procurement and sale of gold in the country. The Gold Scam has now reached alarming levels as unsuspecting foreign nationals are being swindled large amounts of money by the fraudsters,” the DCI said last week.
