In response to motorists who noted that details of the car colour on the log book and the portal differed, NTSA urged them to confirm the details and reach out for rectification.
NTSA denied allegations of any malicious changes even as it maintained that the changes could be done individually by the motorists themselves.
“Mine is grey on the logbook but on the NTSA portal, it is indicated as yellow. What’s wrong?”
“This could be as a result of data migration. Kindly DM the logbook, we will verify the details against the entry documents and update accordingly,” NTSA instructed.
NTSA’s response came after Carol Nyaga – a city motorist, lamented that the police apprehended her after being flagged down along Waiyaki Way on April 25.
According to Nyaga’s account of events, the officers accused her of stealing the vehicle, given that the logbook detailed its colour as maroon, but it was beige on the NTSA portal.
She also shared photos of transactions on the TIMS portal, indicating that an application to change the vehicle’s details was done in May 2021.

“I’ve had my vehicle for 16 years. Nothing like this has happened before. I logged into TIMS this morning, and I notice there was an application done in 2021 to change MV particulars.
“Definitely not by me, and I suspect that was when my vehicle details were changed,” Nyaga stated.
Similarly, NTSA indicated the changes reflected when its data was migrated, refuting reports that a sinister plot was underway.
“There are no other transactions in your account,” the authority clarified.
